Dr. Alan S. Bandy joined the College of Theology and Ministry faculty at Oklahoma Baptist University as the Rowena R. Strickland Professorship in New Testament / assistant professor of New Testament in the fall of 2009. Before arriving at OBU, Bandy served as assistant director of Ph.D. studies for Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Dr. Heath Thomas serves as Dean of the Hobbs College for Theology and Ministry at Oklahoma Baptist University. He also serves as Associate Vice President for Church Relations and Professor of Old Testament at OBU. Prior to arriving at Oklahoma Baptist University, Dr. Thomas served as Director of Ph.D. Studies and Associate Professor of Old Testament and Hebrew at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina.
Dr. Scott Pace serves as the Jewell and Joe L. Huitt Assistant Professor of Applied Ministry at Oklahoma Baptist University. In the fall of 2011, he was named the Reverend A.E. and Dora Johnson Hughes Chair of Christian Ministry. In 2015 he received promotion to Associate Professor and was granted Senior Faculty Status as well at OBU. Pace also serves as the Chair of the Christian and Cross-Cultural Ministry Department.
Dr. Matthew Y. Emerson serves as Dickinson Associate Professor of Religion at Oklahoma Baptist University. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Auburn University and an M.Div. and Ph.D. in from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Emerson joined the OBU faculty in 2015. He previously taught at California Baptist University, where he served as Chair of the Arts and Sciences Department in the OPS Division.
